Story:
None. I see no need for a story in a defense map. tongue.gif

Specs:
  • Tileset: Installation
  • Size: 64x64 (smallest)
  • Game Type: 5 player Team
Gameplay:
  • You use large cannons and fire giant blasts at the enemies.
  • You need to purchase ammo to continue to fire.
  • There are 2 ammo upgrades. Shotgun and Flakgun.
  • You fire using a shuttle drop style.
  • Projected close to 30 waves of units in the game.
Version information:
  • Beta 1.4
  • Only 7 levels of gameplay.
  • All ammo types added and working.
  • All guns fully operational.

You might want to rethink the name, it's a little close to SoftWarewolfs's "Crystalic Cannon Defense."

Download irfanview to convert pcx files. I believe you can even find it at SEN.

Yeah you should only be getting 1 gas per kill so playing by yourself in a way is challanging and in a way is very easy. I'm going to majorly test my map tonight and see if I can figure out how to prevent some of that stuff.

Alright, I'm not sure what is causing the bugs. The only thing I can really think of is someone purposely trying to screw up the map.

Estimated fixes for 1.2:

  • Stealing Powerups
  • Powerups not spawning
  • Units getting stuck (excess archons)
  • Free kills where your last unit was
  • Neverending explosions on the end
  • Less ammo per gas
  • More expensive ammo upgrades


And since this is close to the name Crystallic Cannon Defense, I'm open for suggestions to new names. PM me, email me, or message them to me. But don't spampost a name here in this topic. I only want feedback, and bug reporting to happen here.

If you find anymore bugs than those estimated to be fixed in the above list. Please state them here.

Edit: I just played it and i got the same glitches as ezday2, and my probe also was able to pick up the uraj crystal, and i wasnt able to buy ammo, or at least my gas wasnt go down, only ammo i could get was regular ammo.
And I was able to mess up my units in the dropship so they werent in the same order, I was constantly clicking them, and also unloading all

can you only kill one unit with one bullet? sad.gif I can't kill 2... and I run out of the 10 ammo so quickly..

Upgrading your ammo will let you kill more units at once. But what I found, it was too easy to hit guys in the earlier levels and people ended up with ton's of gas.

I love the idea of the game. me and a friend had lots of fun with that version. It's glitchy tho once theres units at the bottom building thingy when I tryed to shoot to the 5th row it would just creat a archon and leave it there. Other than that the game is really fun. Fixed a bunch of bugs, added some things like faster ammo purchasing after you upgrade. You can now win/lose the game. But there are still only 7 levels. You can expect more in the next version and a possible HP system like in trigger happy d.

Do you always contemplate releasing maps based on public opinion? Who cares what we think, finish it if you want to see it done. I haven't played it yet, but when I saw the name I immediatley thought of SWW's map and I thought it would have crystallized cannons. You may want to rethink the name of this.

I truthfully dont tend to like dropship based firing because it just slows you down a bit, but i dont want to critisize your ideas

You don't really need that big quote in there and you didnt even make it right.

I used the dropship based firing system because it's fast, easy, and takes up little space. The alternative would have been a building like a Stargate with all the necessary buildings under it and that would look too bulky on my map. Plus then I would have to force players to buy ammo manually with either a MC or civ/beacon system.

This solves all problems.

EDIT: I just wanted to get this idea out. I thought it was a pretty cool idea that people could use in the future. Thats kinda why I dont want to finish it. Because all that is really left are the levels.
