i actually created a very nice boss, it is in my golden land rpg map, the final boss.
it should be in the DLD soon

Umm... That was very... interesting. pinch.gif If it were used in a real map, I think it would be too simple with an average amount of strategy involved. My opinion of a good boss fight would either have puzzles or micromanagement.

mines just a basic idea that id build off. i could add required puzzels or items to defeat the boss or something.

Also, long time ago, I was working on a map called Boss Fighters, that's pretty much like this display of Bosses you want people to make, lol.
It was 10 levels of bosses...

should i have made the location size that I centered on the defiler bigger so that you have more of a risk of dieing from the explosions? did you actually make any of the bosses in that map because i need new ideas, im flush out of them.

If you guys like cool boss concepts, play Mp)3's Everarcha RPG 1-2. Some of the coolest effects and boss concepts are contained in the map. It's a lot like the second map of New Avalon II (I suspect that that's where Mp)3 got his inspiration. There's no shame in it, that map is absolutely terrific and deserves to be emulated). It sends chills up my spine when Kerrigan says "I'll kill you myself." A+!

Here nothing to special boss fight, pretty much rush job.. but meh.. I wasnt going for cool effects like Mp)3 but ah well just a rushed map, i do better ones later..

in that map, why dont you just combine the kill guys at use spell into the using the spells triggers? i havent played it but it seems pretty good.

I only dled Moogle's and WolfMaster's first boss concepts (not your revised one kouga). They were ok for just popping out a random idea and putting into map form.
I liked Moogle's except that after i killed the evil reaver one of the mutas flew out of the battle arena so spells kept happening even though I won sad.gif
The spells were so evil.... Grrr i would get like 10 hp to killing the baby overmind and the boss would summon a spell with mutas, making me have to kill them before they do heavy damage, making me waste my stim... (>.<) I had 60hp left when I killed reaver. (out of around 850 /w ability to stim, marine)

WolfMaster's was good and very simple, except I figured about 30 seconds in that its a lot easier than it looks. biggrin.gif All you had to do was to a+left click to where the zealot currently is and ull win. The infested terran couldn't attack you fast enough even though you charged straight into them, making them easy kills. The only damage i sustained was when the yellow zealot went out of trigger sync and attacked me once. (-4hp; 21/25hp, firebat) I should check your revised version biggrin.gif

I had too much homework to do tonight so I couldn't place my boss concepts in map form yet but i'll get them to you.

You will know what its like to keep killing something but it will never die..

Yeah I had the same problem kirby. I actually had 540 hp left, but i kept playing because i thought there was more, eventually i took the screenshot below as some sorta proof. Good concept moogle, put it into that "game" you're supposed to not let anyone know about because it's a top secret project that is not for the eyes and ears of the public, dont worry the secret is safe with me wink.gif

I've made bosses in on of my maps. One of them was a strong hydra with IT's that spawned rapidly and ran at you. It was a 5 player map and you needed to basically use all 5 players and their abilities to kill/defend against the IT's and kill the hydra. I also had lings spawning, but not very often.
