Yes after a long hiatus I have finally come back to making this map which I will get finished this time. cool1.gif I have added alittle more since the last time I posted the map but for a quick recap I will explain the features and all that goodstuff for my map.


Outline:

Story:
The ruins of an ancient Martian civilization have unlocked the secrets to teleportation, and the UAC will stop at nothing to harness this world-altering technology. As part of a marine detachment to protect the facility, your duty seemed simple enough... Until the invasion. Now, in an epic clash against pure evil you must fight to understand who is with you, who is against you, and what must be done to stop this nightmare from reaching earth.

Features:
Hp/Armor system that runs on how much damage you've taken.
Manual Aim, yes you have to manually aim at everything since your allied to it.
Multiple weapons for all you trigger happy gun folk.
Detailed Terrain, I may not be the best terrainer but I still don't do that bad of a job.
As close as humanly possible to making this like the real Doom 3.
Ammo System - I Have Decided to add this feature. When a weapon runs out of ammo you automatically switch to a different weapon. I will Scatter ammo throughout the map.

When you download the map tell me if the Zip file has anything in it cause it dled and was in the folder for me.

Fixes: Changed terrain around Inventory, Fixed few glitches and matched some of the terrain I missed.




Expected Finished Release Date: Mid-Late March




Now its time to sign up for Alpha/Beta tests as the map progresses passed the 50% mark. Sign up and I'll choose 4 people to test the map. Thanks!

Just when I was about to start experimenting with triggers for a flashlight system. I'll post in the concepts forum if I get it to work.

Basically it's just gonna be a dropship system to switch between weapons and I may repeat MAY put in a ammo system I'm not quiet sure if I want to yet though happy.gif

It was pretty awesome. If you need some help on ideas, be sure to remember I'm here. biggrin.gif I'm also available for testing if you need anyone. wink.gif

I got a few ideas I tried to use before that you can probably import into your map.. but maybe you've already developed your own unique engine. huh.gif

Edit: I remembered a bug in your demo which when playing with 2 players, the second second slot player always gets moved to the area where he equips the 'ghost' weapon after he received the weapon.

Just noticed a quick grammar mistake. Change the "your" to you're. The part where it says "So your our new marine. You're=you are. "

The screen shots look great. Have not played Doom 3 but i guess I will still try it since it is Starcraft.

Thank you for the grammar correction. Usually I catch those tongue.gif And thanks for the support I should have this beast 50-70% done by the end of January happy.gif I have exams and I only had 2 which I am done and so I got ALOT of spare time to keep this map going!

i have a nice idea for an ammo system but its hard to aim/shoot with it TT unless you're 1v1 on a monster
btw ill help in any way you need =) HC doom3 fan here XD

oh couldnt you just use 1 burrowed unit with 100 hp for the hp counter oO_?

I have thought about doing that but I just never liked the idea for some reason. I tried it and it either didn't follow the person at some parts or the enemies couldn't lock onto it so you could just chance the guys around with a invince unit.

I thought Doom 3 is just a remake of Doom 1... (Better graphics and storyline etc...)

Answers:
-Yes I might possibly make a MP mod map based on Doom 3 using many of the systems I used in my map.

-And by every weapon I think you are referring to Ammo. YES every weapon will have ammo.
-Yes all stationary people in the first level will talk to you other then those at computers in the room where Sergeant Kelly is.
-Well rooms can be exited and entered through doors.
-Secrets I havn't yet decided on.. the Alpha and Beta will for sure not have secrets but perhaps just perhaps v1.0 will
-Well what would be the point of the first question. You may help me sure I always like help from others happy.gif


Also: I didn't quiet meet my quota of 50-70% of the map and I don't think I will but I promise I will be up to the first boss by the end of the month. I may even get more done because school doesnt start till 1100 for me now.

On another note check out my AvP: AoS Total War. It was a side project that turned out very good with a colaberation with Moogle. Thanks again for the beautiful terrain!

btw i had a decent multyplayer system that uses no ammo =)

MWAHAHAHAHA I have done it I am at about 50% done this map happy.gif While I am still intergrading the ammo system in it seems to be working properly to what I expect. I am now due to location restrictions shortening levels or just excluding them all together. From what should be a 27 level map is now going to be probably looking at 15-19. The levels I will for sure not leave out are ones of somewhat importance like when you first fight a Revenant or a Manacubus. Terrain is looking very nice and with still 50% of the game to finish I have quite a bit of room left to put stuff in happy.gif Oh yeah and the last boss is going to be trigger intensive seeing how you can only kill him using the soul cube tongue.gif This is going to be a very nice map when its done!

Well the map as of now is ment for up to 4 players but I might get rid of one cause everygun has about 22-25 trigs for the ammo to work properly >< And there are about 8 guns so you do the math 8x20x4... yeah alot of triggers. And my ammo system I kinda just made up in a minute it uses burrowed Zerg units owned by a computer player xD Yes I am cheap.

Yeah that would be better then it would be easier for me to do things but I don't know two player just comes off as censored.gif you died well I can't get any further.
