Staredit Network -> StarForge -> Triggers & Colors
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ChaosRyder on 2005-01-24 at 08:40:18
Ok, I do my maps with both Starcraft X-tra Editor and Starforge, but I find annoying that I can't open my maps once I did stuff like changing player's color, placing sprites, or anything done in starforge that cannot be done in Starcraft X-tra Editor, to do triggers. So One day I trying doing my triggers in Starforge, but none of them worked. Can someone help me with writing triggers in Starforge, since it's only written stuff and if you put a space where your not suppose to, or something like that, censored.gif s everything up. I'll try some more and I'll try to get more experience, but I would still like if some people could give me some help. And do any of you guys do triggers in Starforge, of you just do the isometric terraning in Starcraft X-tra Editor, the Square terraning in Starforge, then triggers in Starcraft X-tra Editor, then the rest of the stuff like sprites and stuff in Starforge? And by the way, does anyone have a list of the player color? I saw one somewhere, but Ii can't remeber where. You know the list that says like: 0-red, 1-blue, and it says if it flashes, or does anything special, and it goes on to 255, I'm looking for it for a future map.( Not too in the furture, soon )

Here's some information on writing triggers in Starforge. It's more fun to post it than it is to quote it, since this page is a slice of history.

Heh, I forgot how much Clokr_'s English has improved since then.

I could have just copied the text and rewritten it here, but the whole page is a nostalgic reminder of the Team SE forums. I figured that some of the old members (Clokr_, Rexy, Moogle, Bolt) might appreciate it in its original form.

There are also some pointers in the help file, which you can access from the Starforge directory. It's not quite as in-depth as clokr's tutorial though.

Sure, why not? Make a stickied "Starforge Trigger Format and FAQ" thread and rewrite that tutorial in your new, improved comical broken english. That ought to prevent a lot of useless threads from cropping up in the future.
