OMG THE GARBAGE POST.
Basically in this post, you will find about 100 or so threads all joined into one for the sake of saving space and being amazing.
We all know it is hard to think of a good idea for a map.
Here is where we can all brainstorm, and hope to get some unique ideas.

This thread is now a combination of 2 pages worth of Oo threads. Instead of deleting all of the threads, I decided to combine them into one huge thread which can also act as our own "Garbage" topic.
Hmm, apparently SOLAR has tons of new ideas for maps. Hopefully he'll post here as well.
Well as far as original ideas go, I had only thought of making a Space Invaders map where you unload units from a shuttle to fire them, and on certain levels there will be units that you'd have to hit 2x, 3x, or even 4x just to kill them.
I don't have many unique ideas. Most of the time I find a map and find many better components to add to it - like having a bunch more units in Splash Defense or making a Zone Control where you can choose your race (which I plan to make so don't take this idea guys!).
I also had an idea for a game called Cadets where its like a mix between Impossible Scenarios and an RPG. You are a cadet in the Space Marine Corps. and have to go out and complete certain missions. At a certain point you'll get a promotion and start to choose which missions you want to attempt. Each mission requires stealth, careful planning, or even just all out brute force. Originally I also figured I'd add a gun system where you can pick up various guns and equip them (so really a promotion just means upgrades for Terran ground units) much like the system in my upcoming Robot Hunters map.
I was planning to make Space Invaders, Zone Control, and Cadets but I realize I probanly wont finish any of them except Zone Control. So if you'd like to use one of the other two ideas, just ask.

Ah man I've started my Zone Control map. Its about 350 triggers total. Crazy stuff. I just hope I'm not doing all this work for nothing...
hah thats nothing compared to map im making....its gonna need like 1000 triggers unless i think of another way to do sh.it in it

YEah but mine is just 350 of the exact same trigger where only the location is changed. And without SF where you can just type the name of the location, its a huge pain in the ass.
since i realized i'm mostly just good at making bounds,so i started to think of a new style of bound play, 2 came to me
1) imagine a tourny style game like bound tourny 1 but u must survive like lets say a series of that ob 10 for example if at least one person makes it out of that level u move on to level 2 and u all get new lings...cool huh...but i not good at these triggers
2) ok this one is kinda weird i think u'd have to make it a tourny style play so ur units never get close...ok each player controls a corsair and when u disruption web area ur computer ling moves there so its like bound tourny sorta
I really like the first idea. The secnd is good as well, but I don't think a lot of people will be too good at it or will be too slow.

Okay in lamens terms:
1. Okay think of FloOfy's Bound Tournament 1. You remember how the obstacle speeds up and stuff as time goes on? Dynasty is proposing to make a team version of Level Up Bound where each level the bstacles start slow and speed up to become harder. When a person beats one obstacle, the whole team advances to the next level - and everyone is revived.
2. Think of Chinese Bound 2 or some other tournament bound where the players are separated into their own bound areas. Then think of another set of these bound locations (so if there are 5 players, there will be 10 bound areas total). On one bound area will be a zergling. On the other will be a corsair. Instead of moving the zergling yourself, you make a disruption web at a certain location on one bound area and the zergling goes to that spot on its own bound area. You use the web to move the zergling.

ya zea it sounds cool but i realized after i was making the map that the web triggers wouldn't always respond right away a little bit of a lag, so you'd have to like web before the explosion u want ur ling to go
but i am making a bound on my first idea...if anyone wants to see the corsair one ask me once i get back on sc and i'll show u...maybe u can find a way around it, or maybe its not that serious a a problem
You could always make the obstacles a bit slower.
well its a tourny so its not a constant speed on the obs, but even in the slower stages of it it won't go till after the next explosion
Oh, that sucks. I suppose that would be the same with a Defiler's Dark Swarm as well, eh?
I have an excellent Idea For an RPG, Expect something awsome in the future.
Ohhh yes I have many ideas. I think a lot more can be done with turn based battle systems, and with adventure games collecting, and using items. A lot can be done with chess board style strategy games.
Whenever I am in a pinch when it comes to new ideas (I havnt been in years) Just play your favourite games, and listen to your favourite songs, watch your favourite shows, and look for inspiration and MANY things will come to your head. They will, too.
Hmm, I got a really cool idea from a friend a while back, it was cool but didn't work because I didn't know much triggering.
A tournament style Bound, terrain like Level Up Bound, but it's TIMED. You start at a safe starting spot at the top, and below you is 25 2x2 squares (5 rows and 5 columns).
Once you enter the arena, you have a timer start from 15 seconds, and every second you're in the 'arena' a second is subtracted from the timer. The first one to get their timer to 0 earns a point; first to X points wins.
Cool, so its like Bound Tournament except with a timer and the players advance in levels before the others?
It's like Bound Tourney, but players don't advance in levels before the others. There's only one arena area, and once a person beats a level it changes to the next.

-i made it 4x for speed purpouses
also abuot tourny bounds i decided to make one

well u do the whole tourny bound then depending on how many mins u have u buy and upgrade or build units and then fight in a sortof melee game

no i tried her game and i changed mine so that u bound in one big box together then depending on what ur pts are u buy units and have a couple rounds of defence so its nothing like melee bound
