ok basically i've seen numerous topics on turn based games movements attack spells etc. i would really like to see a turn based game make it to sc... so i've started on my own

i'll list problems and how i've solved them with trigs
problem: movement and attack
solution: you can choose 1 unit to move + attack for 5 sec (enemys are normally invicible attacking unit is invicible

problem: spells etc
solution: i only have a few spells in need of ideas if you got em

boost: creates a 5x5 explostion that results in all units in that area able to attack (includes enemy's)
Earth Spear: cereates a lurk under the caster
Fire Storm: creates 10 wraiths taht are cloaked and belonging to comp that attack twards direction of a target the caster designates
Life and death: puts all units in a 5x5 box at 50% HP

problem: keeping units in the same spot
solution: well a simple move location after the move+attack phase is over solves that easily

the game is relativly simple compared to what most people try to make a turn based game as for units you get three units
first type on units: high attack low hp
2nd type: low attack high hp
3rd type: mid attack mid hp

you can 1 fight eachother 2 fight through an arena or 3 it sets up a huge battlefield and you have to attack + destroy all enemies

so tell me what you guys think it'll take a while to program its fairly simple...really simple...

Alot of turn based strategy games and rpgs have made it to sc... check out the dldb (download database).

did that one ever get finished by uhh....well i forgot it might of been Mp)3 or someone but it had that kingdom heart intro (the japanese version) anyways he had a sweet turn based system in it

actually i have another way than just attacking and having invincible units.
you should use a spell system using gateway sytem.
Zealot- normal attack
dragoon- spell 1
HT- spell 2 etc.

yeah... also try to make a tile grid system. where the battlefield is so much tiles big lets say... 10x10
you start on the other side and you must move to the enemy. but you only get to move so many tiles per turn. there should be melee and ballistic spells as well.

thats just my thought on a tbc game

You could try Paper Mario's turn-based system with those "action" commands in it.

A good turn based game is the yugioh duels. But it's very buggy. You could make something like that.

another idea for making turns is making the unit neautral so it stays there. When you attack, you choose either spell or attack.If attack, you get the unit, and attk for like 2 secs.Don't know if it might work though..


.:SPELLS IDEAS:.
Ice from heaven - Create a arbitor, and use statis field.
Meteor - Create a chain of exploding Science Vessels, then make it go to a enemy. Once it reaches the enemy, create 5 firebats for 5 seconds.
