Tired of having to resort to 128x128 maps because you want a cool looking mini-map. Heres a method of having any sized mini-maps. This method works best with square pixelated maps.

Get a cool picture. Make sure it is has pixelation sizes of 64,96,128 and the rest that are defualt(works with any but best to use normal ones).
Take a picture editor and split that into parts of 128x128(if smaller enlarge picture with blank border), then enlarge smaller parts to same size. Create the maps and use SCMD to edit them together.

Its soooo simple its a wonder nobody's used it or thought about it. I know scmd is new and stuff but just imagine better looking mini-maps with more options because of bigger pcictures smile.gif. Hope you guys like.

Note:Make sure pictures are on same terrain that way there will be no errors.

The problem with 64, is that the 1x1 tiles are like blocks on the mini map.

Yeah but imagine the resolution for 256x256. I mostly intended this method for that resolution because it would be easiest to do it for.

I have done something like that, although I hate looking for the right tiles for pictures.

Well, most of the time, this is pretty useless. But, I accually got what you were saying in the beggining, so, nice. Thx for accually saying what you are saying in a manner that is easy to read. So, I hope one day this comes in handy.

I've made picture maps with higher than 128x128 resolution using BMP2SCM and Starforge a long time ago. If you have a basic understanding of computer image editing and mapmaking you should be able to figure out a way to do it. I guess now there are like a ton of ways to do it now.
