wouldnt be cool, if you could put the actual time in a map...I mean the time zone wherever you are...but it'll always show...what time it is where u r? it could be possible...jus buncha coding...

fairly easy. you just need users to input what time zone they're in. you'd use a wait of one second to count up with the countdown timer.

ADDITION:
ps its called triggering, unless you're planning on actually creating a third-party program for this.

Knowing what time zone they are in is worthless, you'd need to have them input the exact time.

PS. You know, when you're logged on battle.net, you can type "/time" to see what time it is.

That would be neat, if they played the map at different times it would be different.
I doubt theres a way though.

You could have them do /time and use EUD conditions to read the time value.

why would you want to use the time anyway.

But that would be neat if it checked to see if it was night then the lights would go off and if it was day they would be on during an RPG this would make sence!

over all i think this is a pointless idea...wh ywould you want to know the time, that what watches are for...

Or the /time command...

I really don't think it would be possible to detect the time in a game using triggers unless,

but, that would be overly difficult and would have no true reason to exist.

Sorry.

Real time is pointless, but fake time could work.

Use the COUNTDOWN TIMER, and freeze it at a time. EX: 1:36. Make it go from 12:00 to 11:59 and repeat using hypertriggers/deathcounters.

The map could star at a RANDOM time, so the map isn't the same all the time. And when the time is at certain times of the day, the map would be different. At night people would be in their house's and asleep during the morning there would be lots of people and cars driving around.

I might test this system out later could be fun. Lol and there could be spells that alter the time to work at your advantage. ex-some units are more powerful at night and get extra powers, etc...

lol im going to try that random time thing on one of my maps..that seems like a good idea...I don't know about detecting time it could be cool, but not really practical or needed you could just have it randomly start at night or day and that would be more fun It would be a suprise wink.gif
