Catch me! New worker AI

Imagine a computer that sends a worker out to scout, and while at it, it starts to harass you by hitting your workers or buildings.
Imagine then you try and get that annoying worker, and to your amazement, the worker runs away while you chase it, but what is worse, its reaction time is that of a machine, flawless, you never get to kill it and what is worse if you hurt it it enough, it will go back to mining and send a replacement. Imagine you quit chasing and back does the computer worker come almost like he had a brain of his own. Imagine too that you ignore it, and instead of harassing you it opts to build a refinery on your dam gas geyser.

Stuff of dreams? It is a reality. Soon to come from the Brood War AI Project. The rise of the machines, slowly but surely, until a new class of computer AI is forged, like none of you have ever seen. Deathknight, otherwise known as CountChocula, has brought some of his UMS and modding skills and joined the Brood War AI project. The result the above computer worker AI. This is of course the very start of behavior modification of our favorite units so that they act more human-like and of course improve the computers overall AI strength.

I like it. I like it a lot. Is this going to be implemented into an actual AI mod, or will this just be a stand-alone AI? If it were put into a mod, it would be scary, especially if you could give that amount of intelligence to all units. Vulture dance with perfect reflexes? scared.gif

Nice, I'd certainly play it. But you should make both a mod for standard melee games and ai scripts for UMS games, both preferably standalone (I really don't like modding SC, but I would love the scripts).

The soon to be newest type of modding, you wont have to patch. It works with 1.14 and its all in one exe file. So even an idiot cant fail! unless its a mac then im sorry.

We should enter an AI like that into WCG and see if it beats the Koreans.
Seriously though, once its done, make a Korean pro play it.

That's a joke, I hate how everyone think of koreans being the best players in every game almost, there are tons of players that can beat koreans from all of the countries.

AI cannot compete with a human brain in a game no matter how good you make it. There are always flaws, AI is artificial, not the real thing, nothing can beat the real thing, unless you completely suck.

The AI you're talking about already has problems. Actually, it has a single VERY large problem:

The computers still cannot micro to the extent a professional player can. It has basic micro skills, which is why it is scripted to get 2000 minerals for every gas harvest. The purpose of this is to increase the computer's macro to compensate its lack of micro.

And yes, I hate people who think Koreans are gods too.
